.b Programme

.b is a fun, engaging and useful mindfulness course for young people, adapted from the adult courses ‘Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction’ and ‘Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy’. It has been evaluated positively by the University of Cambridge and Oxford Brookes, and can be used in a wide range of contexts and age ranges.

 

.b is a 10 week structured course for pupils aged 11-18. Lesson duration is 45mins – 1hr. Topics that we explore during the course include:

Week 1: An Introduction to Mindfulness

Week 2: Playing Attention

Week 3: Taming the Animal Mind

Week 4: Recognising Worry

Week 5: Being Here Now

Week 6: Moving Mindfully

Week 7: Stepping Back

Week 8: Befriending the Difficult

Week 9: Taking in the Good

Week 10: Putting it All Together

.b is delivered through a range of teaching styles such as videos, cartoons and activities, this course helps children to understand what is happening in their brain and how this affects their behaviours as well as giving them some simple mindfulness techniques to help them to ground themselves and manage their own emotional well-being.​
